The Science · Peer-Reviewed Research

An active researcher and science communicator.

Nick's background spans wet-lab research and clinical trials throughout his undergraduate and graduate training. He remains actively involved in research today — planning studies, assembling multidisciplinary teams, and authoring scientific papers. His areas of interest emphasize metabolism, nutrition, neuroscience, cholesterol metabolism, and aging.

Neurodegenerative Diseases

Nick's PhD focused on ketone metabolism in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. This remains an area close to his heart, shaped both by his work with patients living with these conditions and by his own elevated genetic risk for Alzheimer's disease.

Ketogenic & Metabolic Therapies

Nick is passionate about advancing ketogenic diets and metabolic therapies, particularly for chronic, treatment-resistant diseases. His interests span neurological, autoimmune, gastrointestinal, and other conditions where metabolism may play a fundamental role in disease progression and treatment.

Cholesterol Metabolism

Nick has conducted pioneering research in cholesterol metabolism, particularly on the Lean Mass Hyper-Responder phenotype. His work has generated national and international interest and has helped establish this emerging field as a frontier in our understanding of cholesterol metabolism, cardiovascular risk, and human heart health.

Peptides & Human Bioengineering

Behind the scenes, Nick works with clinicians and scientists to help advance research into emerging compounds, including peptides and other novel therapeutics. His philosophy is simple: people are going to use these compounds regardless. The responsible approach is to study them rigorously, collect high-quality human data, and better understand both their benefits and their risks.

Speaking & Media

Bring rigorous, energizing science to your stage.

Nick turns frontier metabolic research into talks that respect the audience's intelligence — for medical conferences, corporate wellness, podcasts, and panels.
